A Bit of Physics

May 22nd, 2008 by Ana Scherer

There is a law in Physics that states that two bodies cannot occupy the same space.  That’s an easy concept to understand right?  If two cars drive to the same spot they would clash, if two people want to sit in the same chair either they are very friendly with one another and sit on each other’s lap, or they will simply not be able to fit.  So, with that in mind, let’s think about our own lives…

If I don’t care about my job but still go to the office every day, the spot of the job in my life is occupied and will not allow me to get another.  My hours are taken, my mind is on the job, how can I have the time and energy to try to find another one?  Another example has to do with relationships.  If we have people in our lives whom are not adding very much to it but nevertheless we keep them because we have a need to have any type of friends and don’t want to be alone ever, then we are preventing other people from coming in to our lives.  After all, we already have friends!  You get the idea.  When something is in your life and it’s not really what we want, the things we really want will not come to us.  It’s that simple.  What to do about it then?

There are two steps to the process.  The first one is to be clear about what you want to have in your life.  I realize I keep coming back to the clarity issue, but believe me, nothing will happen until you are clear about what you want.  By the way, to get there you also have to get clear about who you are and what your needs and values are.  No worries, a coach can always help help you with that!  :-)

The second step is to let go of the people and the things you realize you don’t want in your life.  Who says it was going to be easy grasshopers?  Detachment from people and from things will set you free.  No kidding.  When you let them go, you will experience the joy of having space and time to spare.  How would you like that?  Can you use more space and more time in your life?  If you do, then use the process above!  Try it and let me know how it works for you.

Make it a great week!

With energy,

Ana
