Follow the Signs

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

Remember some of those “magic” moments when a friend said something, or maybe you read an article in the newspaper or listened to an interview that simply answered a particular question you had?  That’s what I call guidance from above.  It comes unexpectedly and it makes incredible sense to us.  If we would only listen to it…

Sometimes we choose not to listen and dismiss the signs as something “inexplicable”, crazy coincidence, and therefore not worthy of our consideration.  After all, it’s not based on logic!  If we would only give it a try…

Think about the times when you listened to the signs and took action.  What happened?  What was the outcome?  Were you happy or sad you made such decisions?  I am willing to bet that when you felt sure about a sign and chose to listen to it you were happy you did so.  I can only speak for myself when I say that, whenever I consider the signs, I am always successful.  I am not saying I only make decisions based on signs, nevertheless, I consider myself lucky when they show up during a decision making process that I am undergoing.

At the present moment I am in the middle of making a few big decisions in my life.  Amongst them are; shifting the focus of my coaching practice, publishing a book, and creating another business.  Ever since I decided to go ahead and make the changes I am about to make, I’ve been getting an amazing amount of signs confirming my decisions.  I am listening to them and getting more and more excited about being closer to realizing some of my dreams.  I hope the signs keep coming because I am listening!  I also hope that when the signs come your way, you also take the time to listen.

A Bit of Physics

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

There is a law in Physics that states that two bodies cannot occupy the same space.  That’s an easy concept to understand right?  If two cars drive to the same spot they would clash, if two people want to sit in the same chair either they are very friendly with one another and sit on each other’s lap, or they will simply not be able to fit.  So, with that in mind, let’s think about our own lives…

If I don’t care about my job but still go to the office every day, the spot of the job in my life is occupied and will not allow me to get another.  My hours are taken, my mind is on the job, how can I have the time and energy to try to find another one?  Another example has to do with relationships.  If we have people in our lives whom are not adding very much to it but nevertheless we keep them because we have a need to have any type of friends and don’t want to be alone ever, then we are preventing other people from coming in to our lives.  After all, we already have friends!  You get the idea.  When something is in your life and it’s not really what we want, the things we really want will not come to us.  It’s that simple.  What to do about it then?

There are two steps to the process.  The first one is to be clear about what you want to have in your life.  I realize I keep coming back to the clarity issue, but believe me, nothing will happen until you are clear about what you want.  By the way, to get there you also have to get clear about who you are and what your needs and values are.  No worries, a coach can always help help you with that!  :-)

The second step is to let go of the people and the things you realize you don’t want in your life.  Who says it was going to be easy grasshopers?  Detachment from people and from things will set you free.  No kidding.  When you let them go, you will experience the joy of having space and time to spare.  How would you like that?  Can you use more space and more time in your life?  If you do, then use the process above!  Try it and let me know how it works for you.

Make it a great week!

Setting yourself free from the past

One of the most severely limiting beliefs that many of us have is that the person we were yesterday is the person we have to be today. This belief keeps us tied to our past mistakes, habits, and limitations. If you observe nature, you will notice how the ocean color changes, the tides change, the wind blows in different directions… In summary, nature is used to change and embraces it with exceptional ease. To be in the flow requires accepting that change is all that is constant in our lives.

All of us have unlimited potential and a clean slate in this moment – NOW! What prevent us from tapping into this potential are our own mental ties to the past. Our past has no power other than the power we give it. One of the most dynamic and significant changes you can make in your life is to make the commitment to drop all negative references to your past.

Every day this week, remind yourself that your life begins now. As your past habits creep into your consciousness, simply acknowledge them and let them go. This is not a complicated process and you can begin doing so immediately. Focus on what you can do today, right now at this moment, and you will have already begun to create abundance that is your birthright. Just like nature does all the time!

Have a life changing week!

Re-inventing yourself

Credit: SXC.huWhat would it be like to wake up and do whatever you want to do without obligations? How would that feel? Would you feel free? Discombobulated? Would you be happy? Would you miss the routine?

Many of us long for a day without routine. Why is that? Is that because our routine has become so awful that we simply need a break from it? If you think about it, your routine is what you do most of the time during your waking life. Wouldn’t you want that to be filled with joy? Wouldn’t you want to look forward to it?

I mean, how can we fall into the trap of doing something we don’t like and repeating that task over and over again? Didn’t we create that routine ourselves? Weren’t we responsible for bringing that into our lives? If we did it ourselves than we can undo it as well right?

Yes, absolutely yes. We can undo it. What are the steps to undo this dreadful routine? (more…)
